Chloe Moretz vindt Hollywood feestjes niet leuk

De 17 jarige actrice speelt in haar nieuwe film “Clouds of Sils Maria” een verwende Amerikaanse actrice die een slechte reputatie heeft. In het echte leven is dit totaal niet het geval, want Chloe is nooit slecht in het nieuws en dit wil ze graag zo houden. In een interview om de film te promoten zegt Chloe wat ze echt vindt van Hollywood en de aandacht die ze krijgt.

“If I wanted to go crazy, I would be doing it right now,” zegt Chloe. Veel actrices van haar leeftijd doen dit wel en dit heeft dan ook weer effect op hun carrière, maar Chloe heeft de behoefte niet om uit te gaan. Sterker nog ze zou het liefst willen dat het niet hoeft. “ If I could create a world where I just did my job, where I could just do that and not have to worry about promotion or parties or red carpets or anything… that would be great. Sadly, it doesn’t work that way.

Wij zouden dolgraag naar feestjes of rode loper evenementen gaan, maar we snappen Chloe ook wel. Ze heeft namelijk het idee dat haar fans heel snel boos op haar worden, als ze niet met hun op de foto gaat. En de fans bepalen natuurlijk wel of een film succesvol is, aangezien zij degene zijn die naar de bioscoop gaan.

Ook vertelt Chloe wat ze vindt van de paparazzi. “They want to see that you’re a messed-up human. We want to see you cheat and lie. And it’s kind of depressing because, instead of being actors, we’re now just entities, which isn’t our job.” De actrice is dus echt gaan acteren om het vak zelf. Het is haar tot nu toe goed gelukt om haar priveleven prive te  houden en ze zegt dat het ook gewoon mogelijk is. Al denken veel actrices van niet, maar je beslist zelf wat je met de wereld wilt delen zegt Moretz. “If you keep it quiet and you don’t make a fool of yourself, it’s not that hard,”. “Keep it at home, you don’t have to go out. You don’t have to be making out in public like a weirdo! I hate that stuff. Sure, hold hands if you want to. Just know what you’re doing. If you really love someone, you may not want to make it that public, because it can bring everything down. The minute that one million Twitter followers get involved, the relationship’s no longer about you guys.”
